Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has criticized Manchester United manager Eric ten Hag’s treatment of Jadon Sancho, saying he would not have done that.
“If the whole world doesn’t trust and believe in the players. That is the manager’s duty, he must always be the one who supports the players,”
Klopp said.
“I don’t think he will be useful to the team. Especially to buy a player for £80m and then let him go out on loan!”
Klopp returned to the club to bid farewell to thousands of fans at M&S Bank Arena, where he gave a series of interviews. One of them is Ten Hag’s treatment of players like Sancho.
The 24-year-old has now moved back to Borussia Dortmund, Klopp’s old club, on loan. This deal comes after Sancho had a falling out with Ten Hag.
Sancho is unlikely to play for United again as long as Ten Hag is in charge. The Bundesliga side want to sign him permanently this summer, with sporting director Sebastian Kehl admitting he wants the deal to happen.
